Hearty Potato Pancakes with Onions

Belarusian pancakes are a simple and famous dish. In the classic version of the preparation there are only two products, not counting spices – potatoes and onions.


-potatoes … 1 kilogram
-oil vegetable … 100 milliliters
-onion bulb … 1 head
-sal … 1 teaspoon
-black pepper ground … 1/2 tsp


1. Clean and quickly rub the potato tubers; the pulp should not have time to darken. Onions are also grated or chopped using a blender, add to potatoes. Drain excess fluid. Mass salt and pepper to taste. Heat the vegetable oil in the pan, put the dough out with a spoon. Fry potato pancakes on medium heat from two sides to a golden brown crust.
